This beginner-friendly taster course offers a first introduction to wheel throwing in a relaxed and welcoming studio atmosphere at Atelier Alfar in Zurich.

During the session, you will learn the basic steps of working on the pottery wheel and experience how clay is transformed into functional ceramic pieces. With guided support, you will create your first wheel-thrown objects, even without any previous experience.

At the end of the workshop, we will select your best pieces (maximum 3 pieces per person) to be dried, glazed with a transparent glaze, and fired at the studio. Your finished ceramics will be ready for collection approximately 4–5 weeks after the course.

This course is ideal for anyone curious about pottery, looking for a creative experience, or wishing to try wheel throwing for the first time.
